My review of Whiteout by Ragnar Jónasson!! @Ragnarjo @OrendaBooks #Whiteout

Today I am so excited and delighted to be taking part in the blog tour for Whiteout by Ragnar Jónasson!!

Two days before Christmas, a young woman is found dead beneath the cliffs of the deserted village of Kálfshamarvík. Did she jump, or did something more sinister take place beneath the lighthouse and the abandoned old house on the remote rocky outcrop?

With winter closing in and the snow falling relentlessly, Ari Thór Arason discovers that the victim’s mother and young sister also lost their lives in this same spot, twenty-five years earlier.

As the dark history and its secrets of the village are unveiled, and the death toll begins to rise, the Siglufjordur detectives must race against the clock to find the killer, before another tragedy takes place.

Dark, chilling and complex, Whiteout is a haunting, atmospheric and stunningly plotted thriller from one of Iceland’s bestselling crime writers.

Oh my goodness this book is so good!!  I loved everything about it from the front cover to the last page, it did not disappoint at any stage and was superbly written!

I thought that the characters were brilliant, I loved the depths of the different people featured in the story and how well the writing makes them interact to carry the whole thing forward at a steady pace.  For me the whole book was completely gripping and I loved the descriptions of the setting of the book, they are very vivid and it does make you feel as though you know where they are and that you are part of their story.

I found that the book really drew me in after a few pages and I didn’t want to put it down and read it in a few hours – very highly recommended and I have given the book 4.5 stars, rounded up to 5 stars for Amazon and Goodreads!

I received an advanced copy of the book for the purposes of an accurate and honest review – all thought and views are my own.
