One girl can make a difference…
Moscow is in flames, leaving its people searching for answers – and someone to blame. Vasilisa, a girl with extraordinary gifts, must flee for her life, pursued by those who blame their misfortune on her magic.
Then a vengeful demon returns, stronger than ever. Determined to engulf the world in chaos, he finds allies among men and spirits. Mankind and magical creatures alike find their fates resting on Vasya’s shoulders.
But she may not be able to save them all.
I thought that this story was fantastic – the author has a fabulous writing style and she really immersed me so well in the story, it was a complete page turner for me and one I did not want to put down – I loved it all from cover to cover – and that cover I must say is gorgeous!!
The story was well paced and I really enjoyed the author’s writing style, the mix of mystery, historical fiction and fantasy is spot on – it is such a marvellous story.
The book had a lovely flow to it and I was well over half way through the book before I even realised and kept doing my infamous “one more chapter” until I thought I might as well just carry on – and I was glad I started at a weekend as I did stay up late to finish it off.
This is the final book in the Winternight trilogy but to me it read fine as a stand-alone too and the author wrapped up any lose ends and explained what had gone on before so you would not be missing out, but if you do want to read the books in the series in order, this one would have spoilers.
It is 5 stars from me for this one, I thought it was a brilliant read and it is definitely one I will be recommending and that cover is just gorgeous!
