  1. When did you know that you wanted to be an author?

From school age with creative writing. I’ve had career long experience in copywriting and in advertising and marketing.  My first book ‘Start Up to Success’ captured all I learned from starting my own business in the gardening sector. The company won the New Product of the Year Award in 1999.  This then led to my second book ‘One Degree North’ an action thriller set in Singapore in the 1960s.  My third is ‘Transform Your Communication Skills – a mentoring guide to help people inside and outside business to improve their public speaking, writing and presentation skills

  1. What inspired you to write this book?

In short, meeting Janet Neville, my co-author. Janet is an accomplished Spiritual Medium. She connects with her spirit guides to transmit telepathically communications from the world of spirit. The content of our two books has been direct and unchanged from Spirit .

Believe in Spirit is our second book together.  The first, ‘Being Spirit’ published in 2019 and won the ‘Highly Commended’ Award in the 2019 Soul & Spirit Book Awards.  Being Spirit is a first introduction to Spirituality which is a simply writing explanation of a complex topic.  It de-mystifies spiritualism and helps readers overcome misunderstandings of the sort you find in Hollywood films like ‘The Sixth Sense’ It is not fortune telling or ‘Talking to dead people’.  It is about your essential, personal spirituality. Not religion, not make-believe. Unlike man-made sets of beliefs, spiritualism provides actual evidence from an unseen world.

  1. If you could sell this book in one sentence what would it be?

To share the wisdom, knowledge and understanding of the world of spirit to everyone on earth.

  1. What are you up to next?

Supporting our two books at home and abroad to open minds and help people consider the possibility that a beneficial and loving power exists to change their lives, the environment, and every living thing on this beautiful plant.

This would be achieved through teaching events, church services, speaking engagements, and offline and online media channels.

A third book and specific pamphlets on different subject will follow to continue the educational task we have before us.

  1. Who is your biggest inspiration?

Within this sphere it is our close circle of Spiritual Mediums on the earthside and our group of spirit guides and teachers who are our mentoring source

In writing terms, Thomas Hardy is my favourite author.

How their writing partnership began.

(Taken from ‘Being Spirit, their first book.)

I arrived late. Janet was in full flow. A non-stop three-way conversation was taking place. The congregation were silent, straining to hear, not wanting to miss a single word. Only two people were visibly engaged. Janet in a flame red dress was instantaneously listening, laughing, and talking to a girl in the second row.

I realised that a millisecond pause punctuated Janet’s message, as if someone off-stage was feeding her information, like an actor forgetting their lines and getting a prompt. This was exactly what was happening, except that the prompt was coming from another world.

Steve was a fully signed-up sceptic. He was having none of this spiritual business. He’d had enough religion to last several lifetimes. That was until he received a message from a Spiritual Medium he did not know, that changed everything.

She’d detailed the last moments of his best friend’s life with astounding accuracy, some of which he knew, other facts were later proven to be true. From that moment, he was on a quest to understand what on earth happened.

On that evening in Kingston Spiritual Church, Janet took time to explain how she and her spirit guides worked together. Five years later ‘Believe in Spirit’ is our second book. Janet supplies the content direct from her guides. Steve shapes the narrative flow. Being Spirit is a first introduction to the existence and involvement of Spirit in our daily lives. ‘Believe in Spirit’ is wider and deeper. Both books are written with simplicity, to share knowledge, stimulate minds and promote understanding.
